On Saturday, with baby sister's arrival only five weeks out, we decided if we were going to move Ben to a big-boy bed, it was either now or never. (Well, at least a couple of months after she came.) So that evening, we pushed the crib to the other side of the room and set up his new bed. I'll admit, it was an emotional time for me...I'm not sure a twin bed has ever looked so enormous!
Ben was also emotional - just on the other side of the spectrum. Super excited to climb on his new bed...

...and jump on his new bed...and roll around on his new bed...

He also got a new perspective of the shelves and pictures on his wall.
So the plan was to just let him get used to the idea of having a bed in his room. No pressure, just ease on into things. After reading a couple of books on the bed, I told him it was time to get in the crib to sleep. "Noooo," he said emphatically. "I sleep right here." And that was that. Just a little while later, and he was out. So out in fact that he didn't even notice when he rolled against the wall and bonked his head, twice.

The next morning I woke up early, nervous about what would happen once he woke up. So it wasn't hard to hear the soft knock on his door around 7 a.m. Once I got outside his room, I heard a quiet "Mahmmy?" and opened the door to find him standing on the inside, sound machine off, lovey tucked into bed - ready to start his day!
Hope he handles all his upcoming transistions this well!

Your little boys growing up Mommy! I love his new digs!
Love the bedding and the pics of Tyler and Ben - too cute! Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day! I can't wait to meet your little baby girl!
Way to go, Big Ben!! I agree, Stacey...when Hay moved to his big boy bed it was like my baby was officially gone :( He looks elated with his new sleeping arrangements and, from what you said, he seems ready for that move! Congrats!
