Fall Festivals and the Fireman

On Friday, Tyler and I clocked out a little early to join the fun at Ben's school's annual fall festival.
All the kids decorated their own treat-collecting bags,
and headed outside for:

slide riding
snack eating
and art making
You may (but probably not) notice that this hat looks a little more upscale than his free Firehouse Subs firehat. Well Ben must have an eye for the finer things b/c he swiped this from another fireman on the playground, accidentally I'm sure.

But the major meltdown that ensued once the other mommy needed the hat back and I pried it out of his white-knuckled grip, was no accident. And was also not easily remedied. Not by mommy at least.

Ms. Suzie always makes things better.
(see the glare he's still giving me?! Mannnn....)

Soon all was forgiven and after regrouping at home, we headed off to more free festivites at Dawson church in Homewood. Ben l-o-v-e-d the toddler sized bouncy house, but it's hard to take pictures through the netting. He also tried his hand at some carnival games!

Of course with Ben, each and every peg had to have a circle before we could walk away.

Then he hit the carousel with Owen!
Owen: "Do you know that guy waving and shouting at us like a maniac?"
Ben: "Uh, nope!"

"Wheeeeeeee!"

PS. Pretty sure this is the last fireman-jacket post. We'll now resume regular street attire.

PPS. Update: never mind, there's another on the way!

What a fun Halloween our little fireman had!! I'm thinking Mommy and Daddy might've also enjoyed themselves! That last picture (on the Carousel) says it all!

Look at little Ben fighting for his own as they hand out trick-or-treat bags! That kids got street cred for sure. Love it!
