prayers needed

Some good friends, Dona Lisa and Gene Conklin, are desperately in need of prayer. Their son, Amyas, was born three weeks early on January 31, weighing 4 lbs, 12 oz. Since then, he has experienced several seizures and is being cared for at a local children's hospital in California. The prognosis from the doctors is bleak: severe brain damage and possible blindness/deafness. To make matters worse, their insurance won't cover the mounting hospital bills.

This world is far from fair, and this sweet couple deserves a healthy child as much as anyone else. There aren't words to console these parents, and we can't even scratch the surface of Amyas's medical bills, but hopefully our prayers will give them peace, hope and strength when they can't find it on their own. Please take just a minute to pray for a miraculous healing and that by trusting in the Lord, Lisa and Gene can find new strength. If you have encouraging words and/or scripture that I could pass along to them, please post or email me. Thanks!

Hey Stacey and Tyler! This is the first time I have been able to see your blog. First of all I can't tell you how handsome little Ben is and how happy I am for you all. Thank you so much for thinking of us and including us on your page. Any and all prayers that are sent up is all we could ask for. Just for your information the prayers are definitely being heard. As of today, he has been home for 3 weeks and is 6 weeks and 2 days old. He's just reached 8 lbs and there are no signs that he is deaf nor blind. He passed his hearing test in the hospital with flying colors! He has had no seizures since his first days in the NICU. He truly is a miracle baby so his nickname is "Miracle Myas". We've just been home doing all the normal newborn adjusting just like you guys, just 3 weeks behind. I totally share in all your mommy tales and adventures and can't wait til Ben and Amyas meet! We love you guys and thank you from bottom of our hearts for your love and support of us at this time. Please keep Amyas in your prayers as we will keep your family in ours.
Love,
Gene, Lisa, and "Miracle Myas"
